Description:

Rotary lobe pumps are positive displacement pumps that use two or more lobes rotating around parallel shafts in the pump body to move fluids. They are widely used in the hygienic processing industries, including food and beverage processing and chemicals.

Operating principle of the rotary lobe pump:

Rotary lobe pumps, also known as lobe rotor pumps, are a popular transfer pump for transporting food, beverages, pulp and paper, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and so on. The rotary lobe pump is based on two synchronously rotating rotors that create suction (vacuum) at the inlet as they rotate. This draws in the material to be pumped. Both rotors divide the rotor chamber into separate spaces. They then operate in a sequence of 1-2-3-4. The medium is delivered to the discharge opening. In this cycle, the medium (material) is continuously transported out through the source.

Different types of lobe options for the rotor lobe pump

1.Single Lobed Rotor: More suitable for conveying media containing large granular materials. The breakage rate of large granular materials is low. But on the other hand, it is not popular for used because its pulsation is large and the pressure is low, and the volume for the space of the transferred materials is also small. 2.Two-lobed Rotor (Butterfly rotor) More suitable for conveying media containing small and medium sized granular materials. The breakage rate for these materials is low and will be slightly pulsating. The volume is slightly less than three lobed rotor for the space of the transferred materials. 3.Three-Lobed Rotor It is a widely used rotor. The volume is larger than other rotors for the space of the transferred materials. Also each performance is higher than other rotors. Just it has a certain breakage rate to the particulate materials on the transportation way. 4. Multi-Lobed Rotor (4-12): The volume of the transferred materials is smaller and the breakage rate is higher when the number of rotating blades of the rotor is increased. The transport path is more stable.

6. With VFD, the flow can be adjusted as required, and the pump can be used as a general metering pump.
7. If required, we can provide the pump with a heating jacket.
